Tail Lamp is Now a Fish Tank
Driving home last night, I got a call from my friend who was following me. "You've got a fish tank in your rear tail lamp.". Does anyone know what sort of compound/silicon that can be used to "reseal" the tail lamp? I don't know where the leak is, so I'm thinking I have to redo the whole fixture. Any suggestions? Btw, the taillamps are OEM.
Thanks!
Thanks!

instead of just resealing the assembly, bake them in the oven on 200 until you can pull them apart. THEN reseal with silicone. Just a heads up in case you werent going to do that.

Re: Tail Lamp is Now a Fish Tank (JasonBlackEJ1)
thanks for all the information.. i'll look into that this afternoon.
i have some other things i need to work on. the seller did not tell me about a lot of the problems on this vehicle, and i'm running into the majority of them now. Shady buyers suck.
Anyway, I'm also looking into doing the side-trim duplicolor job (i think B18-C5 posted something on it).
thanks again!!

Re: Tail Lamp is Now a Fish Tank (mjrage)
250* F for 5 minutes
Pull apart gently using a pry like a flathead
Make sure to use a razor to cut the silicon as it comes out
Now you can reseal and rebake.
Push tightly in.
I had water in both headlights. That was my excuse to paint them and I did. I resealed them with the SAME silicon Honda already had on them. And guess what?? 0 leaks. Been over a month now.
