tachometer jumping around

Default tachometer jumping around

i put in a autometer tach and it jumps around from time to time? why is this? also it sometimes says its at 4 grand when my stock tach says 2 grand then it will jump to the right spot?

how do you have it grounded this may be the problem. also were do you have it hooked in to where it can read the rpms? try wiring it off the dizzy i believe its the green wire w/ a yellow stripe but im not 100%

i have it grounded to the hood pop latch and i ran the tach lead to the distrubutor on the negative terminal on the stock honda coil.

why wire it to the distributor when there is a wire made to have an external tach ran to it...its up by the strut tower on the right side...its a single blue wire. try grounding it in a better spot...

is the tach wiring anywhere close to the O2 sensor wiring? that was my problem when i put mine in

because the wire from the dizzy is the most accurate spot to wire the tach
