tach and speedometer needles jumping?
my tach needle is jumping. sometimes it will jump 3 grand, and it jumps the most while im slowing down in gear. the speedo will jump rarely but ive seen it go to 20mph at a stop. one time at a stop the needle was jumping so rapidly that it pulled itself down past one grand and died.
i think it's my distributor wiring getting loose (my dist. is OBD I and my harness is OBD II), but i checked the crimp connections twice already, and they're all good. do you think there's anything else that could be causing this? or should i go ahead and solder the wires?
my setup:
1996 EK 4dr
B20 with gsr tranny
stock harness and the motor was converted to OBD I so i reconverted it (injectors and spliced the dizzy
i also chipped my OBD I ECU to run my ej6 injectors and i have the harness converter

when i was about to start soldering the wires together i noticed that the wires right at the dist. gasket where wearing away, so i popped off the cap, spiced the wires and soldered them from there. problem fixed
