Tach is jumping like crazy!!!
I have a 94 civic with a b16a sirII. The motor was running descently but the tach jumps now. If im cruising along at what should be 2500 rpm the tach will jump anywhere between 1000 and 8000rpm. If it gets past 5800 i can feel vtec engageing and its not a good feeling if your only reallly at 2500rpm. I hear that it could be my ignitor (is this the same as the ignition module). Anyone have any suggestions.

I changed the ignitor and the coil and still having the same problems. Should I change the whole distributor or take it to a shop and have them troubleshot it?

if u have a spare dozzy, swap it out to see if that makes a difference, if it doesnt, check ur grounds in the engine bay, if that doesnt help, take it to a shop
