Default Tach in Dx

Does the fact that a dx civic has no tach make it hard to put a cluster in that has a tach? Like an Si cluster or after market. Anyone have any idea how to add the tach to the cpu or whatever it reads off of. I know nothing about electronics in cars.
Thanks.
