not worth the $3500 thats for sure, maybe if you were doing a home made set-up or something cheaper it would be a fun project, but for that money you should swap and get a lower mileage motor thus increasing power and increasing the life span of your car, thats a smart investment

It depends. My car has been maticulously maintained, and is in perfect condition (compression and leakdown numbers) at 110K. As soon as I pick up a new stock car for racing, I'll be throwing that same turbo kit on my Y8. It all depends on the health of your motor.

So true, besides, most swaps are used engines as well, so its not always a sure thing...how sure can you be of the new engine's health? (usually they're solid if bought from a good source, just pointing out that its not a sure thing either) Just figure out what you want from the car/engine long term, if you'd be happy with the power output the turbo is going to give you, go for it. If you think you may want more power eventually, I'd lean toward a swap. If you just want to learn about turbocharging, and get the experience of installing and maintaining it, go for the turbo. If you want Honda reliability and maybe go the NA route, get the swap.......lots of scenarios.
One thing that is a factor, if you do happen to blow that engine, its much cheaper to replace than any B series. Assuming you install it yourself.

yeah 3500 dollars is an *** load for a D-series turbo, and only a T-28, theres a guy on here selling a used t3/t4 kit for like 1000, and 3500 is enough for a great swap, i got my b18b1 with trans, harness and ECU for 685

Thank u all for the replies it is very helpful to get different views, i was told if i were to install the turbo t28 that my transmission would blow, due to the fact that it is an automatic and cant handle the power, is it true? do i have to change transmission too if installing the turbo kit?

But the Edlebrock is the most complete kit you can buy, and it uses very high quality components and you get thier own IM. It's also street legal, CARB and EPA certified. You can get a turbo cheaper, but that kit is worth the street price on it.

Don't let the B-series guys influence your decision. Don't give in to peer pressure!
Boosted D's are great, and make some nice power. They are also much cheaper as far as first turbo projects go. If you mess up and blow the motor, you only have to drop 300$ or so for a new motor as opposed to 2500$. The edelbrock kit is really nice, but I have to agree with the B guys, for 3500$, I would much rather do a b18c5 swap.
Do some research and make your own kit. Chances are you can make it just as high quality for much cheaper if you go that route.
I have a brand new garret t-28 for sale in my profile. I've got the same turbo on my boosted jdm d15b, and I love it. It's funny to run against a mustang only to tell em you're only running 1.5 liters.
