9000 is right. honda doesnt want you to flush any of their automatic trannies. the D series trannys have always been **** out of the box.
Limp mode would give you 1st and 2nd gears only. your O2 is the biggest suspect because when the car has a cold start it'll idle high and have higher shift points to heat the engine up faster. now with the O2 not telling the computer to lean out the mixture because its warming up, your points will be at the points where they would be on a cold start. im sure your temp guage reads normal but that doesnt mean the computer knows that

Re: A/T not shifting right
Here is the code that the scanner pulled up if this will help. It is a P0730 code "Inaccurate gear ratio". Not sure what that means It was something about the gear ratio was off.
You can get it to shift by putting it into neutral and back into drive. But I am trying to find out what is wrong to get it fixed.

i posted a thread asking how to fix it and what it means but no one knew.
so im thinking of just taking it to aamco.
if you find a solution and what it means, let me know. thanks!
forgot about that.
the gauge on the dash only displays the heat of the coolant entering the engine block.
which is why that temp gauge sensor is on the block where the coolant goes.

Re: A/T not shifting right
I am not sure what the code means as well. According to my mechanic friend he says to replace the tranny. He talked with some of his other Honda mechanic friends and that is what they most often do. This seems a little extreme so I am looking for other options.
I was going to have the O2 sensor replaced but the stock manifold on the front of the motor is cracked. So it gets better and better.

Re: A/T not shifting right
And the plot thickens dun DUN Daaaaaaa
I checked all the solenoids with my power probe. All of them are functioning. Each individual one made a clicking noise like they are suppose to when you put power to them.
Last night I took the heat shield off to investigate the primary O2 sensor. And when I did that I saw a larger crack in the exhaust manifold. I would say it is about 4 inches long and appears to have been there for sometime. And to make it better it runs right across the primary O2 sensor. So in order to replace the sensor I need to replace the catalytic converter as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a new catalytic converter? I saw some on Ebay but was not sure about the quality. Obviously like many things in life you get what you pay for. And it looks like a whole lot of fun getting it out too.
Thanks for the help I will post pics up tonight of the crack. LOL

Re: A/T not shifting right
Ok so I replaced both the Oxygen Sensors and the exhaust manifold. I am still having the shifting issues.
Any other ideas? I have called a couple of transmission shops around town they all want $1450 + to replace the tranny. And some wouldn't even give me a worse case price.
I am beginning to wonder if it is worth fixing.

Re: A/T not shifting right
why not just get another transmission and get it swapped out for no more than 600 i would estimate and problem solved? used d series transmissions should run pretty cheap especially an automatic and labor shouldnt run very high, well not at any shops that i go to anyways.
