i've never heard anything bad about it. but i do know from experience it doesn't always work. the one trans i had, had a slight grind going into 2nd sometimes, changed the fluid and put pennzoil synchromesh in and it went away. On another trans i had 3rd was real bad and i put the same stuff in, and it didn't help. i guess the trans was too far gone.

I can't say anything bad about the Honda Genuine Transmission Fluid.. It's worked fine for me for over 2 years.

x2. you dont want synthetic oil in a honda tranny since the synchros are meant to be dry when they connect in a shift. go buy some honda MTF ane be happy you have OEm reliable fluids.

I really hate double-clutching, why wouldn't you want synchros in your transmission?

Honda designed the thing for 10w-30 SF or their fluid. Use that.

worked better than honda mtf. there was and is nothing wrong with my trans i decided to just try it out. it made the tranny a whole lot smoother and shifts a lot better. to those that say it doesnt fix or make grinds better its not meant to do that anyway. so why does it matter?
btw i have used it for 20000miles and nothing wrong or no negatives on my itr trans.

do you think you just needed to drain the fluid and just put in new Honda MTF or just new fluid in general?? Honda MTF worked great for me

no the honda mtf fluid only had 10-15k miles on it. i drained it and refilled because i developed a slight leak at the input shaft seal on the tranny. so it wasnt that the honda mtf was old.

Honda MTF all the way I wouldn't use anything else. Plus, it's not even that expensive.

not sure i have no experience in the tranny fluid area although i have been around my share of transmissions. do you drain and add synchromesh or use it as an additive? this topic did exactly what it did in the 96-00 forum (posted there on accident) 50% thought good 50% thought bad

you drain and refill with syncromesh. it will most likely always be 50/50 because a lot of it has to do with personal preference. in my experiance most people who bash it have never used it or used it to cure a grind. as a tranny fluid it makes an excellent substitute for honda mtf and may even be better. in my case the transmission seemed a lot smoother so i will continue to use it. my advice to anyone who wants to know is go buy some and see for yourself its not to expensive to do. also dont go into it with some false hope/expectation that it will miraculously save your transmission. it wont
