Swapping out my A/C ... need advice
So after spending $500 in 2 trips at the Honda dealer to "fix" my A/C, it's still not working.
I went and won an ebay auction for a used (but working ... so they claim) A/C for $80, which should be coming in next week or so. I'm just going to replace all the parts out and hope that fixes the problem ... maybe keeping the thermostat in there since I just spent $300 having it replaced
What do you guys suggest for a plan to swap the A/C components?
My current A/C, while not working (it's actually intermitant), has a fresh charge of Freon. Should I take it to a service station to recapture the Freon before I remove it from my car? I'm assuming if I take the whole thing apart I'm going to be releasing it anyways.
I'm just looking to minimize the number of trips I need to make / cost for Freon recharge for my new A/C.

yes try to save the freon if it is new, and to be honest just drop the ac all together that was a waste of money if u ask me. My ac didnt work so i just took it out, yes i admit sometimes it gets hot but its noting i cant live with. Save your money and spend it else where

I think I'm gunna try to get my AC to work. I work way out in East county and the sun beats down HARD during the day (no shade! At least I have a good car cover!).
Sweating during rush hour
