swapping out the d series vtec solenoid for the b series solenoid
a friend of mine said that if i swap the d series vtec solenoid for the b series one then i get more powerful vtec switchover so i just want to know if this will work and if it will then what could i expect

as far as i know, there's no difference. a friend of mine was using a D-series solenoid on his JDM GSR motor before he got his B-series solenoid and there was no difference in the crossover.

I think what he might have meant was the ECU. If you use a b series VTEC ecu in a d series VTEC, the crossover is very pronounced for some reason. Someone here did that with a HX, he put in a GSR ECU and he said it really screamed at crossover and beyond redline. I might try it for kicks soon...

No, he's talking about the VTEC solenoid itself, and NO the DOHC ones don't do **** on a SOHC motor.
That's yet another one of those pointless mods that gain more popularity as the rumors swell.
