Default Swapping a ITR suspension into a 99-00 Civic Si or EK civic??

Hi,

I have done a search for what im asking. I am thinking about swapping out my skunk2 coilovers ( put on by previous owner) and stock struts and replacing them with 98 Integra Type R shocks and struts. I think it will bolt up just fine overall but I am thinking of a few parts I may need to swap out. I dont know for sure, so if anyone has done this kind of swap before your input will be appreciated. I think i may need to get ITR lower control arms (possibly), ITR damper forks, ITR mounting base for shocks, ITR rubber spring mounts, ITR rear lower arms. Those are parts that im looking at and thinking i may need to buy, but I may not need to and still use my Si parts for the rest. The guy that I am considering buying it from says I should just need to buy the rear lower control arms and I should be set. You may say, just upgrade your shocks and/or springs, go with (kyb, tokico, koni,etc....). Sure, i can go with those but I want a rather stock feel to a degree, im looking for more of even ride than with the skunk2 coilovers, and want a decent alignment ( yes, i know i can get camber kits). Thanks for any help given on this topic.

get some TEIN SS. Good bang for the buck suspension...and camber kits are waste of money unless you are planning to get it give more camber for track driving...

and yes I know I didn't answer your question, and that's becuase I am not really sure, so bump for some one who knows!

thank you 4 your input anyway CivicSi2000. I would go with a full setup like tein or something but i dont have that kind of money. For something I can do for a couple hundred dollars, and still see a benefit, I see it as a positive. Thanks for posting the link and your input again.

even with any modification? or trying another Integra lca or any other part like a trailing arm? is it due to the susp. setup in the rear of the Si? anything to do with the Si being 4-lug and the ITR a 5-lug susp. setup?

My friends and I, who track our cars, feel the SS is a waste. If you are going to move up, at least get the tein type flex.

thats a good point all stock, I would love to get a real coil over system for example like Tein, but this Si see's 70% city driving, 23% highway driving, and 7% track/racing time. And im on a real low budget say $300 or less, have to see. Seen a good offer for this 98 ITR suspension setup and thinking about taking it, and if i have to change parts off the Si, ill save up for them. I can see this project (should it work) taken a couple months to finish. its not that i cant install the stuff, just need money for parts. Have enough for this swap right now, just checking the question I have thats all. I still appreciate all of your input.

i had a 98 integra suspension (shock, spring, top mount) in my 97 civic hatch, so the suspension itself will fit.. but i'm pretty sure that the lower control arms and such might not fit as expected.. not positive though.. the previous owner must have gotten into an accident because the driver side caster was way off.. turns out that it was a lower control arm from an integra..

Thanks syclone, that helps alot. The Si has the same susp. setup as a EK civic anyway. Im positve the springs/struts will go in fine, but connecting the lower control arm,etc... is what im thinking about. Thanks again for your input.
