Swapping in a D15B VTEC into a 95 civic vx
I have a 95 civic vx and im planning to swap in a jdm d15b vtec. i was wondering if it is jux a plug n play swap? and if my vx ecu would work on the d15b vtec or should i get another ecu to get the most power i can out of it? and if my vx tranny is a good tranny to swap into the d15b or should i get another tranny? any comments would be very helpful.

the stock p07 ecu could be chipped i think (not sure, never got one chipped), but you cant use it as is for vtec. most ppl that i know use chipped p28s.

The Vx is way different from the jdm d15b. The d15b and the d16z6 are almost identical. There are alot of versions of d15b's out there; ODB1, ODB2, and I think OBD0. There are d15b that are vtec-e (which is the hx and vx here in the states). Try doing a search here there are a lot of info here and also in gassaver.org.

Here explains what are the d15b's, but search around you'll find out which ones which. Good luck with the swap. Also if you still have the VX motor let me know.
