Swapping d series engine, having problem with few things, need help.
Hi,
I swapping d16z into my 93 civic dx. Same engine has I had before, just the new one is built. I have one extra wire that I can't find where it goes, and when we remove the a/c, we cut the fan wires, and now my radiator fan won't go on. Also I have code 3 popping up. And for last, the timming belt keep on slipping, it looks like it want to slip off the teeths????? Help. Here a few pictures.
The plug in question, comes from behing the battery.
The loose wires where the a/c was mounted. Do I have to do something with those???
Finally, the old and new engine.
Thanks for the help guys and girls

im not sure about the fan prob but im pretty sure the plug is for either a map sensor or a throttle position sensor since they have the same plug. im guessing its a map sensor plug since its near the battery meaning you have a firewall mounted map sensor as opposed to a throttle body mounted one.

Re: (RedDelSol si)
i have the same thing hanging out the firewall.. and is still hanging there..it is the map sensor cause i use si eg harness.. dx has it in the firewall.. as for the belt.. get it at tdc and replace the tensioner,, problably went bad.. or get a new belt.
as for the fan try matching the colors...and trace what you cut

Re: (civicgsr93)
Code 3 is for a MAP sensor. And that looks like a MAP sensor plug there.
For the timing belt.. show me a picture of the tensioner and I can probably help you. I think I know what you did wrong.. but I can't be sure unless I see what you've done.
