Default swapping carb eo numbers on header

has anyone tried this? im thinking of doing this since the carb # plate on my dc header seems to be spot welded...

im thinking of getting the whitfieldtuning header and having the carb rewelded onto it and re-ceramic coated to hide the rewelds, just so i can daily the car and not having to worry about cops giving me a ticket for not having a street legal header....

I would say, do it. It sounds like you may have a chance, but then again, we dont have that issue here in NY so wait for some more replies from your area.

ill make sure of it...

also, how do they check to see if whether or not the carb eo is legit for the header...

all they check is the eo number...and since its coming from an actual carb legal header, i shouldnt have any problems...

will be doing this after i bar my motor....

ill get pulled over intentionally, just to test to see if it works...if it does, ill let everyone here know...

Unless the cop has some time on his hands, he's not going to be able to run the EO number. It's not like he has a database. He'd have to call the CARB office, right then and there.

I wouldn't do it....IF the cop is smart enough to know what a normal header(compared to the whitfield or other racing headers) you'll be pretty much screwed, in some cases they tow your car...happened to a guy I know coming home from a car show/meet in the valley. He had a greddy turbo kit, but with a garret GT28R instead of the td05(both are similar in size and looks....the cop just really knew his ****). IT'S ALWAYS A GAMBLE USING ANY RACING PARTS ON A STREET DRIVEN CAR IN CA.
