Swapping block from an automatic d16 into a manual d16 car.. tell me the diff in these? please help
Ok i have a d16y8 civic motor and iam replacing the block on it with a z6 block. But the z6 block came off a automatic civic . and when i removed the z6 block the clutch and flywheel looks different than my block i mean do i have to swap my clutch and ect over if so how to.. thanks
Iam guessing i need to swap the flywheel and clutch assembly over if so someone please shed some light on this for me thanks
This it a pic of my y8 block from my car

yeah man, the one motor has the clutch/flywheel bolted to it, the other has the plate where the torque converter bolts to. All D-series transmissions are interchangable. THe a/t version doesnt have a "flywheel." That piece with the holes where the torque converter goes to comes off, as does the clutch and flywheel.

i believe on the z6 is a torque converter for an auto tranny, so all you need to do is swap your flywheel clutch assembly over to the z6 block and you should be good to go

Yea, the blocks are the same its a simple swap, 8 bolts just make sure you torque them down properly now and it would also be a good time to get a new pilot bearing.
