Default swapping backwards (B16A6 - to - D16x).

Hi

I have a Del Sol 1996 with B16A6 in it.
My engine crankshaft pulley is broken, the key way is broking, the bolt is bend and the thread is worn out I am not able to find a crankshaft or a full engine.

So I made up my mind to change my engine and put a d16 engine which is available in the market.
I am not thinking of HP or racing I want to use it normally.

My question is?
Can I drop the d16 and use the b16 harness and transmission?
I know that I will not use the VTEC solenoid.
If i can do this swap what mounting I have to use?
And will the engine fit the transmission bolts?

I tried the search but no use no info in swapping in backwards.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks man

Ok what to do if I don’t want to spend more money and fix the problem.

And for some time I was thinking of B18x but I think it will be a double job.

So please advice.

Thanks

it would be smarter just to get a b18... save yourself some trouble

im sure you can pick up a ls or b20 and just do a ls vtec that way you dont have to worry about the trouble going back to single cam

Ok if I go for a b18 or b20 as both of you said

What b20 I have to pick.

And do I have to change the harness and transmission in both case or no need and will the ECU fit in both engine or I have to change it.

Any links I can refer to for both b18 swap and b20.

Thanks

yeah all your b 16 parts will fit the ls and b20 but my thought is you can still have vtec if you have someone in your area familiar with the lsvtec

Ok I will go with lsvtec but i don't have any on good in Honda in my area I live in U.A.E
So can you please explain for me how lsvtec looks like?
And on what car I will find it?
I will have to pull the engine from a car and what else I have to take else than the engine.
Keeping in mind I have a manual transmission

Is there any project I can look at so I can take a better idea?

Thanks

you can get a ls off any integra auto or manual from years 91 to 99 but try a 96 up they have less mileage

Thanks for the link

After reading the lsvetc setup guide I found my self unable to find most of the parts in my area so I will try this; finding a (B16Ax) in the internet or in any near country.

Can you please tell me what is the deference between (B16A6 and other B16Ax) engines?
If I can find a B16Ax will it fit in my car with no extra work and change?
I think it will be a drop in engine that’s all no need to touch any thing else right?

Thanks mate

dood! just buy a b18 or b16 longblock from ebay or on honda-tech...a b18 longblock will run you $300-$500...b16 around $800...this will save you a lot of headache. lsvtec can be a pain in the *** and can be much less reliable than a stock b16 or b18
