swapping 2000 GSR swap into my 96 EK civic

Default swapping 2000 GSR swap into my 96 EK civic

Just picked up the swap and it came with everything except the power steering pump, no AC (my car doesn't have it anyways). I have the rear t-bracket and obd2a to obd1 jumper harness and chipped p28. I'm getting some innovative mounts because the swap used to be in a eg. Are there any wiring issues because my car is obd2a and the engine is obd2b?

Is there anything else I should get? Also anything else I should watch out for during installation of the swap?

Open to suggestions and comments.

No, there shouldnt be any wiring issues, since your running the chipped P28, it should be a straight forward swap, dont have to worry about the OBD2 pains, hehe.
If you would like to run the Power steering (which i suggest so you dont rot out your rack) you can get P/S parts from any 99-00 civic SI to run it in your civic.

Thats not entirely correct. The Si uses the same power steering parts except the pump. The hose is the same. Trust me this might save you the trouble of ordering the parts for the Si only to discover you already have the same stuff. I have alot of experience with power steering parts mix and matching. If the high pressure line uses a different fitting on the GSR p/s pump try to find another powersteering pump with the right line. You might already have the right one tho but you will find out eventually.

hmmm but I need a pump to begin with. My swap didn't come with a pump...so I should find a one from the GSR or Si? (or are they the same?)

to answer HondamanXxX's question:

when you have a powersteering rack and you just unplug the hoses and remove the pump, you won't have power steering, but your rack will still need the fluid. a power steering rack without power steering fluid dries out and parts begin breaking down (think of a motor with no motor oil)

there are 2 ways around this, 3 if you want to include a not-so-conventional way.

1. swap in a manual steering rack
2. use this : http://hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=563116
3. run a hose from one of the powersteering fittings to the other, making a closed loop system, the rack will still have the fluid inside it. problem with this, is that the rack needs a breather filter so pressure doesn't build up inside, this is what makes it a bit unconventional.

So I could just connect the fluid hose to the hose that goes to the pump and that would be ok?

And also, how many hours does it take to take out the P/S for good?

you could do that, it would be ok, but its not a long term solution, i'd look into buying one of Padawan's kits or swapping a manual rack eventually.
