Default swappin a ob2 motor into a ob1 car?

Just curious..cause I have a chance to get a 00 Gsr swap ....( and sorry for the noobie questions...I never attempted to swap before ) and i wanna learn how to do the process myself (ie..wiring,puttin the motor in). I just took my B20 swap out of the car..cause I am getting the car ready for paint.

Anyhow..here is my question..

What all do I need to do the swap?

My car is a 1992 Cx hatchback

is it pretty much plug and play?

Any info is MUCH appreciated..

Thanks in advance

assume that you had b20 vtec? everything plug and play. if not run vtec soleniod, vtec pressure switch, knock sensor and iab wire, i would get an obd1 ecu or you have to get a obd1 to obd2 conversion harness.

heres some advice do it the right way and get a obd1 harness out of an LS or gsr.. if you go LS you have to run 2 wires for vtec. and get a obd 1 comp. and dist. youll be straight.

No its not totallly different it will plug right in and will be a lot easier than using an obd1 harness. Get the OBD 2 harness from the GSR and it will all plug right in. If you use your OBD1 harness your gonna have to repin the distributer, altenator, and rewire your injectors Or you can get OBD1 distributer, altenator, or injectors.

The easiest way will to be get a obd 2 harness from an integra and get a obd1 p72. Or get a skunk2 intake mani and get a chipped p28.

geez..I wish one of you guys lived in socal..or could come up with step by step instructions on what I should do.

So the 2000 gsr wiring harness on teh motor should work fine on my Cx? and plug into all of my existing plugs?

yes if you have the gsr wiring harness use that. Then find an obd1 p72 youll still have to run the wires for vtec, secondary butterflies, and knock sensor, but youll only have to run them to the shock tower plugs if you wish.

you can use the obd2 engine harness but you need to have the distributer with it. you can use a gsr wiring harness(obd1) you can use a single cam harness like a 92-95 si or ex harness you can use the b29 or ls harness but you have to run the vtec pressure, vtec signal, and the knock sesor if you use that
