swap vtec wiring

Default swap vtec wiring

i just dropped in a gsr into ma 92 civic hatch dx everything was successful except that the vtec is not working. if n e one can give me a step by step guide on how to wire the vtec it woul;d be real helpfull thanks .eclps032000@yahoo.com

im pretty sure all the 92's were wired for vtec, so it should be plug and play. check the oil level, make sure the car is warm or vtec will not engage, and make sure the vss is working.

what wire harness are you using GSR one, or a stock one if it fits (I'm always confused about that). if you are using the stock one you will have to wire it up either to shock tower (since your car is a 92) or straight to the ECU.

on the motor the harness is gsr but on the actual car im using stock i heard i have to wire it to the ecu or something if that is da case do u know what sires go were and if u do can u give me some kind of guide on how i can do it

Are you using the gsr ecu? the 92 dx isn't VTEC, so i think you should try to get a gsr harness and ecu, or at least a VTEC harness and a compatable ecu, you can get a p72 on ebay for about $150-200 .... if i am wrong someone say something, dont want you to waste your cash.

im running the p72 already but is not giving me the vtec something about i have to run 2 wires to the ecu i think from the knock sensor i kno the set up i have is correct the only thing left is to wire the vtec I think.

i have the same set up with a 94 si chiped computer and all i did was run the vtec wires str8 to the ecu from the dx harness and it works good
