Default Swap Through Bottom

Okay guys ive done searches on this but still have a question. Im going to be doing a swap in the 93 civic soon.

I want to do the swap throught the bottom instead of using a hoist. My only question is; how will i get the car high enough to pull the engine out. I have one 20' jack and i can get another 20' jack if needed. I also have two jack stands.

You help would be very much appreciated, thankyou.

No i know where teh threads are and i have read them. But it doesnt really explain to me how the jack will get the car high enough. It just doesnt seem practical to me.

Or a 2x3", a heavy duty chain, and a friend and just lift the motor and drop it in. Put a jack under the front in the engine bay so the motor doesn't hit the ground...

well i think my post is the main one going on at the moment.

I actually just got back from pulling my motor,
from the bottom.

2 20"(' = feet man) floor jacks will jack the car high enough to pull the engine from underneath!
I didnt even have to get them to their highest point.

You need the front bumper off,
splash gaurds off, and the front 2 screws on the wheel well liner off.

heres how it goes.

-car on jacks at a medium height.
-unplug/unbolt everything that needs to be
-put rear of the car on something as low as can be(will make angle greater when you raise the front).
-you should have all wheels off
-use 1jack to lower the front of the car so low that the engine rests on something(like a spare tire)
-undo the motormounts(best to do all but the top two BEFORE dropping)
-lift up car a bit, put the front towhooks on jackstands
-get ur 2 20" jacks, and jack the front up highe enuf so you can pull the engine out from the drivers side, through where the wheelwell liner is loosest seems easiest.

reverse for install.

Now what did you use to put the rear of the car on? I would be afraid it would slip off.

thing is your not gonna spend any time under the car when u jack it up way high,
and the back will be so low, if it did slip off, it'd just fall a couple inches.

just use whatever u can find,
i ripped some bricks off a wall by my house, and stacked some wood on em to get the proper height.

you really might not even need this though,
just put on some steelies on the rear, and those 20" jacks at full height should be able to get the motor out.
