Default swap questions....ek obd blah blah blah

ok just a lil confused.... i have a 97 ex. im buying a b16a2 out of a 99 si. the motor is in a eg right now and is wired for obd1. all the sensors are still there. but harness is cut and ****. so i was goin to use my harness since it was obd2. the guy is goin to give me the p28. so i know im goin to buy the obd2a-obd1 changeover harness from rywire or whatever. my big question is what else do i need to do. what do i need to do on my factory ex harness. and its a manual by the way. ive tried searchin on this but couldnt really find my answers. andy answers would be appreciated. thank you

keeping it obd1 or obd2 is up to you...if the place you live has tough emissions and you dont have a way to pass that, then keep it obd2 unless you can then go with obd1...yes it will be easier to use your EX harness...easy way to do your swap is, take both motors and sit them side by side, unplug your EX harness while taping a note to the plug for which sensor it is, start to take off all the black covering until all thats left is plugs and alot of wires, start pluging it up to the b16a2 and adding a few sensors IF needed, after everything is hooked up, take the black covering and cover all the wires back up and tape it back up...now you would need a jumper harness from obd2a to obd2b for the 99-00 SI ecu that you need if you decide to keep it obd2...if you want to keep it obd1 then keep the p28 and get a jumper harness from obd2 to obd1 BUT you MIGHT have to switch the distributor to obd1 (not too sure about it)...now you should be done

I personally would try and find an unmolseted 99-00 Si wiring harness, keep the P28, and get an OBD2a->OBD1 jumper harness. Then sell the converted OBD1 harness to someone who's doing a B16 swap into an EG.
