swap questions...
ok, so i have decided to swap a b16a into my 93 civic lx sedan. it is an automatic, and will stay that way for now until i save up some money to swap it to manual a little bit down the road. i found a b16a engine at allbodykits.com for $1100 that comes with Motor, Transmission, Motor Mounts, Exhaust Manifold, Intake Manifold, Wire Harness, Axles, and ECU. Have approximately 20-30k miles on them with sensors intact. Engines are all cleaned & compression tested before being shipped.
First off, has anyone dealt with allbodykits.com - if so, what should i expect service-wise from them?
secondly, what problems should i look out for when doing this swap. i plan on doing it myself with a little help from my dad with wiring and such.
any how-to pages or whatever will really help as well...thanks

Are you trying to go B16A automatic?
Also that engine you found is the first-gen B16A. It will have a cable tranny (wrong tranny), wrong ECU, and it will need a lot of extras like a new distributor, wiring harness, and either a new tranny or cable-hydro actuator kit also.
If you want to go 5-speed tranny you'll need to buy a Hasport auto-manual tranny top mount. http://www.hasport.com seels them.
Give us more details. Are you wanting to go 5-speed when you swap in the B16A?

The second gen would be ideal.
If you buy the first-gen then you'd still need to buy the correct ECU, cable-hydro convertor with mount, OBD1 dizzy, etc. The costs add up to alomost be the same.
As for keeping your car auto with the B16A that's highly doubtful. the DOHC auto trannies will not physically fit into the 1993 engine bay w/o cutting on the framerail.
Look for the pedal assembly, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, and all clutch hard and soft lines as well and shifter assy. from any 1992-1995 Civic or 1994-2001 Integra and you'll be good to go.
Add to that the HASport auto-manula mount and convert it all over.

that seems like it would be a lot more work though converting from automatic to manual...not to mention how much more money you will spend doing that. i would suggest to look for a new sedan if you really like that year or the 92-95 sedans in manual and swap then. i had a 98 civic dx white coupe auto...hated it...i just bought a 1992 civic si manual...love it...its your car though...i am not trying to tell you what to do
