swap question, help
What if I swapped a 92-95 stock b16a2 into a 98 ek hatch with OB2 Si mainfold, OB2 distributor and running a 96 GSR ecu. I know that it's an older motor and will get busted if caught, but the question is, how will cops find out? Do they have some special computers to detect what your running under the hood. Please lay down some inputs people before I do such a swap.

cops won't know. if its a usdm motor, they can check the VIn on the tranny. even then, the tranny can be off an older car so it doesn't really matter. if you're in cali, it doesnt matter to the cop anyway. since you have an engine swap, you'll need to get it inspected by a ref. the cop can just give you a ticket for having a swap.

there is no jdm b16a2. there are no numbers after the a. But 96- have vin numbers on the block. also if the cop wants to give you a hard time he can ask for papers on the motor which will show the year of the motor. And the tranny dosent matter.

You sure? I have the motor in my garage right now and it says b16a2 on it. I can provide pics if you want.
