Default To swap or not to swap?

Here it goes. I have a automatic 96EX Civic. Greddy turbo with intercooler, aem cam gear, high flow cat, 2.5inch exhaust, vortec fmu, and a crower cam shaft. Should I put a manual trans, new ACT clutch, new ACT flywheel, parts and labor for 2k? Or should I swap a JDM B18C1 with the manual for 5500? I was thinking of better fuel management if I just put the new trans in. RC 440's and SAFCII. Let me know what you guys think.

swap out the transny. drive the for awhile see how you like the manual then upgrade to b series. but 2k for labor kinda stiff, get some of your friends that owe you favour to help.

The price isn't that bad. New act clutch and flywheel, tranny, pedal assenmly, shifter assembly, and other misc stuff. That's a good price

Have you ever heard of labor? Only labor on most clutch jobs is close to if not more than $600. Get your facts straight.

What are you going to do if he doesn't? Who cares? If he doesn't then he will learn, everyone has to start somehwere. I'm sure you wern't born with the ability to drive a stick, so don't try to be a jackass to others about it.

Do your own work. 5500 for gsr swap

To help you though, I would definately switch to a manual tranny with that setup. But please just do some research try it with some friends, not only will you save money but the experience and reward is priceless.

I think 5500 for a jdm gsr swap is high but it would also be going from an auto to manual. If it wasn't an auto it would be alot cheaper. Oh ya I do know how to drive stick by the way.
