Default Swap Issues

A year ago i swapped a jdm d15b(130 hp) into my 92 honda civic vx and its been running great. The only problem is that i cannot not pass Nox for my emmision test with the manifold that comes on the engine which is similar to a z6. But when i put my vx manifold on the motor which has an egr valve and a few extra vacuum ports it passes, but runs like crap. I am using a p08 ecu(jdm ecu for d15b) and that is what i used with the vx manifold to pass

My question... Do you guys have any suggestions on why i would fail my emmisions test? Do vacuum ports and egr really effect it that much? Any suggestion on how to make my motor run like it should and be able to pass emmissions would be great thanks

if i left any info out please say, i just want to get this problem fixed

try running 100 octane, that always seems to help lower the NX.

the jdm d15 does have high compression and highe comp creates more nox. the egr on the vx manifold is reducing that # thats why its passing with it on

Correct me if I'm wrong but, can't he just run a cat from a 92-95 ex lets say. Assuming
he will be running a p28.
Motors with EGR have their NOX reduced through the operation of the EGR.
In cuncurrent the motors without the EGR Vavle have their nox reduced by the cat.

Is this true could i just get a different cat to help lower the NOX, when i had my car tested, it was like 1000 points more than it should be, so if i got a new cat and ran higher octane fuel, i wouldnt have to change manifolds
