Re: swap economy question (nijia555)
Turbo to be honest with you. D series motors can be quick as long as you don't plan on breaking into the 10s and just want a reliable street car with some power.

d's are a better bang for your buck than b's
turbo it and you'll be faster than gsr swap
get good at driving (w/o hitting boost) and you maintain good mpg

Hell, I boost regularly and still see 30+ MPG.

Re: (middleman)
i considered turbo, my current engine is in bad shape. so it will need to be swapped out. i was under the impression that turbo will require more maintanence that a swap. i am not as mechanically inclinded as i thought i was, i recently had to get my car towed after trying to fix something myself. more likely than not someone else will be doing the install

Turbo a D series (1.6 prefered, VTEC or non-VTEC) w/ 4-7 PSI, keep up with fluid changes. You won't blow an engine.

Yep, maintence is the key. You can find another motor like you have and do a turbo setup for less than a B series swap.

Re: swap economy question (Mista Bone)
can't beat a turbo d16z6 for a cheap-fast honda. I can't belive how fun it is messing with marrows and stangs. my swap and turbo was about a grand. it's really fun.

I belive its 40hp gain.
Thats what it is with the GReddy kit. Set at 4 psi. No BOV, or FMIC....not required.

Mista Bone is one of the brightest here knowing D series, along with Spade. I'd take his word any day!

those numbers are just as bogus as Bisi running 10's on a NA SOHC CRX 1530 cc motor.
I'll ask one question.........Can you TUNE????
Well, can you??????
Must I also add I'm running 325 cc/min injectors also?
I went 440 miles on 9.9 gallons of gas, it was a personal best after 7 years of owning the car. Then refilled when I got home at same station I filled at for accuracy. 360 miles on 8.8 gallons.
800 miles on 18.7 gallons of gas = 42.78 mpg
Can YOU TUNE??
WELL, can you??????
Right now I'm at 300 miles since last fillup, fuel gauge is at 1/2 mark. Which as any 5g owner knows is really 1/3 tank.
People just have to hate those that can run a good number and tune a car for mpg.
Many can tune for hp.
Many can tune for mpg.
Very few can tune for both!

research before speaking.
i used to run 13.3@103mph with my B18C and still get 40mpg. all motor/all on 91 octane, and all interior present.
current setup JDM D15B: 37L of gas gets me about 600km on tank which is about 45mpg.
