I havent driven a b16.. but I can tell you the b18b gives a good pulls in my EG...
reasonable amount of torque.. and I dont even have the correct throttle cable...

i was wondering also, b18b1 vs. b16 in a ek coupe, which one is faster... what kind of times does a ek coupe with b18b1 put down.... consider a si with b16a2 puts down like 15.5

Re: Swap a B16(si) vs B18B1(ls) ??? (In The 16s)
the cost of an LS swap is about 1/2 of a b16, if priced correctly. If you match up a GSR or Si tranny to the LS, it will put down some good times. You gotta compare the 2. Do you want torgue, with a lower redline, or a higher redline with only good top end. A b16 has the same amount of torque as a D16z6, it's weak, but you can make them scream if built.

b18b is also a good choice to built on...
LSvtec can do some damage... and with lower compression, more boost..
if you want NA creamer, go b16...
if you want torque and boost , go b18

as for myself.. I am always driving highway (long distance too)..
so I am trying to stay away from screamers.. but I will do it if conditions are rite...
drag race -> boost
track race/autocross ->N/A close gear ratio...
sorry guys... most of the people(in H-T) probably knows this.. since I learnt them from here.. just trying to help...

I had a B18B1 in a '97 Civic, it was nice but if I had a chance to do it over again I would go with a B16. Right now Im workin on gettin rid of my Integra so I can get a 92-95 hatch and go B16a or B18c1. Whichever money allows for.
