Suspension Question? Please Help!
Ok, Here's my question. I recently picked up some KG/MM Race Springs for my EG Hatch. The spring-rates are 8.6k (473lb) for the front, and 6.4kg (352lb) for the rear. For some stupid reason I assumed the place I was getting them from could get me KG/MM Short-stroke Dampers, Turns out they can't. So now I'm left not knowing what to get. I'v read alot of good things from people on here about Koni/Neuspeed Yellows. What's the difference between the 2? What's the highest spring-rate these struts can handle? The KG/MM springs will drop the car about 50mm (2 inches) so i want something that will be able to handle these springs with no problem. If you have any insight to my problem or know of other struts that will work let me know. TIA!

I personally got the Koni/Neuspeed. The difference is that the Koni Sport Yellows are the universal ones and the Koni/Neuspeed are matched spring rate with the Neuspeed springs. I'm running mine with Neuspeed Sport Springs. Pretty much Koni made them specifically to the specs Neuspeed wanted. Also the have 5 grooves vs. 3 grooves.

cool deal. you wouldn't happen to know what the highest springrate is they can handle would you?

Sorry no. I didn't look into the spring rates since I matched mine all Neuspeed and mine is a daily driver. Ride is so smooth though, at least I can vouch for that

The Neuspeed/Konis have a 20mm shorter shaft and the 5 grooves instead of 3. That's it.
Valving is the exact same.

the 20mm shorter shaft is for what? to help the shock from "bottoming-out"? these grooves are for what?, is that for damper control?

shorter shaft is there to limit droop. nothing else. if you're running short springs, it'll keep 'em from flopping around. bout it.
grooves are there for adjustable spring perches for normal springs. lets you play around with the height a little.
