Default Suspension Guru's I ahve a question about the best spring rate for Tein Coilovers

I will be purchasing these in the next few days and I was wondering what would the best spring rate be for a 93 Pig Si hatchback. I'm not really worried about comfort on the street. I want to start tracking the car but it will still be my daily driver so it has to be some what liveable. I don't mind living with a bumpy ride though.

Any suggestions I've never been good @ calculating springs rates for a particular application. ANy help would be much appreciated.

I did some digging and the ITR guys seem to have batted this around alot. Not so much threads about htis on this forum.

They seem to like 12kg front and anywhere from 10kg to 14kg rear. Anyone have any other thoughts on this.

I was thinking a 12k from 10k rear would be a good compromise between track and daily driving. Maybe a bit stiff but liveable. Anyone else have any suggestions.

I'm assuming you can buy Teins with any spring rate you want....correct?

don't you want the rear stiffer to help rotate the ***? i believe b18c5-eh2, runs 450 front and 550 rear? so thats about 900kg, 1100kg?? tell you the truth, when i did my suspension, i asked alot of the auto x and roadracers from around the states via email, most of them didn't like the full coilovers and put on koni yellows wit custom eibachs....wierd, but i did it to and was VERY satisfied. good luck though

Thanks for the reply. I have the beaks kit and I was going ot put on the ITR sway bar. I figured that would be enough to rotate the rear.....interesting. I might have to rethink this.

Nevermind I looked up archived posts and found that I'd have to by the SS kit and then buy other springs. Thanks anyway guys.

Just remeber that while most of us who autocross and HPDE/Competition road race prefer stiffer rates in the rear than in the front. That this will make the a car more tail happy than stock and could get you in trouble if you are not ready/prepared for it.
