Suspension Decision
Alright heres the deal. Right now my 93 civic hatch is completly stock suspension wise and i was looking to change this. I want to lower it and have a better handling car without sacrificing a comfortable ride. I was looking at a good Spring and Shock combo since my budget is not too high enough to buy coilovers but i also don't just want springs with blown shocks or something.
What im looking for is something that drops the car about 2 inches all around. I dont want to be slammed or tucking tires, and i want to be able to get around town and in and out of parking lots. But i also dont want like a 1.2 inch drop and it looks like i did nothing and still have all the horrible wheel gap. I was looking at many springs such as Tein S-Techs but many people say their like stock and dont really improve handling at all, and just overrated. I thought about others like H&R race, but many said the ride was too stiff and the drop was really low. I want to be able to have passengers in my car and not hear them complain or not break my own back riding around town.
Right now im leaning towards the Skunk2 lowering springs mainly because of price. What good shocks do you guys recommend? Do these springs go good with the Skunk2 shocks, or are there any other set ups you guys have in mind. Lastly heres the quicker my budget is only $500. So i want a spring and shock combo under that. Hope you guys can help me out or let me know if the Skunk2 springs and shock combo is a good idea.

Go with Stechs dude. I'm in the same boat as you and they're what I'm going with. I'll be using OEM shocks so it'll be less than $200 for me.
skunk2 stuff...idk I don't really like them. Some have said it's a bit stiff.

Re: (sde780)
For shocks get some Tokico illuminas, Koni Yellows, or KYB agx I dunno where you got the advice on the S-Techs Ive always heard great things about them. They give your ride a great drop and they dont have the sag like a lot of other springs, getting the adjustable shocks will let you mess with the stiffness of the ride.

I have the Skunk2's and i like the drop they give and the ride is what is to be expected with a 2 inch drop. I'm also on stock shocks. My buddy has eibach springs with the skunk2 shocks and i really like how they ride! It seems to me that his setups gives about the same drop as mine as well! just some things to think about!

Re: (Bob Dole!)
right now im on skunk 2 coils with illuminas in the back and s2 struts in the front, the skunks struts almost feel like stock but with better longevity obviously but the illumans provide alot better handling there adjustable and i can get almost any feel out of them. also if your looking for better handling and ride quality swaybars are a good solution to getting a stiff feeling car with good handling characteristics while maintaning a softer ride.
my whole setup also doesnt ride as nice because im all the way down all around.
honestly as longa s you have functioning shocks any of the name brand coils will feel fine its when your riding on blown stocks that it rides like ****.
sorry for the novel.
