Surging idle...b18b
Just purchased a 98 Civic DX with a LS B18 non vtec swap. Car runs great but the idle surges at idle. Sounds like its jumping up and down really quickly. Can you guys suggest where to start looking for issues?

only CEL code on is for having no cat.
idle seems to be jumpy only for the first couple min and as it warms up a little the idle sounds stable

IACV and FITV have been cleaned but idle is still jumpy

make sure you have the correct ECU, I've seen this happen after a cleaning of the IACV and FITV, it ended up being the car had the automatic ECU instead of the manual one which was causing the surging idle.
edit: It was an EG with an LS btw.
