Surging Idle
I have a second gen B16 and i have a problem with my idle surging. I replaced the IAC valve and flushed the cooling system, it doesnt get hot or anything, the fan works and it will really only do it during the day when I drive it for like 20 minutes or so. Any ideas???

Re: Surging Idle (SIRTIM96)
did you bleed the cooling system? Normally the fan wont come on unless your low on antifreeze.. could be a possiblity..but not sure if it will have anything to do with idle

I actually switched ecu's and still had the problem. So i put the old ecu back in and it went away, at least for now... if it comes back i will try all of the tips you gave me, thanks for the help.

yeah...i had a couple buddies tell me that. Basically what they said was...the fan only comes on as a backup..for instance if you are low on antifreeze or the lines havent been bled.
