Man, you just opened up a BIG can of worms, this is a huge argument But it's all good, gives us something to argue about again.
If you want a smooth powercurve with power right from the very second you hit the throttle, then go for the supercharger. You get a wide powerband, but not as much overall power gain.
If you want some serious mid to top-end power, definately go turbo. You have to deal with turbo lag and the fact that you still have little low end power, but the overall power potential is generally much higher than that of superchargers.

the argument that most people have is that a supercharger is belt driven thus takeing more power to run. A turbo on the other hand runs off exhust gass's witch is more efficent, but if you end up running a larger amount of boost from a turbo you will have to wait for the exhust gass's to build up creating turbo lag.

Does the vortech supercharger do the "psssst" thingy like a turbo when you shift.
The Jackson racing supercharger has the by-pass valve depresurizing internally so I guess this does not make that 'pssst' sound.
But going back to the question, for street use, I prefer a supercharger. broader torque, and easier to bolt up. Your headers and exhaust might work as well.
