Supercharging my sohc vtec
I am looking at superchargers for the sohc vtec d15b6. Will any 92-95 sohc civic supercharger kit work on this motor or is there a specific one for the vtecs?

the kit comes with a fuel regulator...so i would need to dyno tune my car with some aftermarket cam gears? is that what your saying?

really? i didnt know you needed to dyno the car after supercharging it?!?..i knew you did for turbo...is it expensive to dyno, what if i didnt dyno it, would it not be drivable? or jsut not as fast as it could be?

uhhh super chargers are just as good as turbos. and they are better for your motor. all power all the time is better on you motor than little power to full power.(lag)

thats not exaclty true, depending on a tune, a supercharger can have a jumpy dyno chart, while a nicely tuned turbo setup will make power all over the dyno in a nice curve. the only reason people like turbos over supercharges is because you are supposedly able to create higher boost with a turbo. a supercharger needs all kind of pulley upgrades and what not just to boost higher.

boost is the way to go. i have a 2000 civic si and its nearly stock and i wailed on a civic eg with a supercharged sohc. also a supercharger creates a little more stress than a turbo because its constintly runnin unlike a turbo where it has to get to a the right rpm for the turbo to kick in.

It's good that everybody's mentioning turbos since he didn't ask for anybody's ******* opinion on whether he should go supercharger or turbocharger.
@ OP:
Regardless of supercharger, nitrous oxide, or a turbocharger you'll need to get it street or dyno tuned, you'll need a chipped ECU either running a program like crome or neptune, or running a Hondata setup (either one's fine), you'll need larger injectors, bigger fuel pump, and tuned professionally...
You could probably have an 8-11lbs pulley on an SC on stock internals and a good tune - tuning time can be expensive though, but it shouldn't take very long to tune...and yes it is neccessary or you'll run lean as a ***** and throw a rod...and no you can't just "richen it up a little" - it needs to be tuned...
