Super Loud Intake???

Doubt anything is wrong, most of those large cone filter intakes really let out the noise from the open throttle body. If you are looking to be quiet, stick with an oem air box and resinator.

It is obnoxiously loud! Sounds like a vacuum cleaner while idling! I have never heard any civic sound like this!

Re: Super Loud Intake???
That's strange, the sound is usually minimal unless you're opening up the throttle. Check it for leaks and put on a new k and n or aem filter if it's an aftermarket intake. If it's stock and loud, the resonator was probably removed.

LOL the hoover set up HAHA. reminds me of a story a guy was gonna try. i;m visiting my god father in his vacuum shop and a kid walks in asking how much for a vacuum motor. his dad is a machinist with a local shop but its a dad vs kid thing on who knows more. so the kid tells us the plan of using a vacuum motor as a forced induction on his 84 honda cvcc. he planned on blowing air through his carb, to get more power. so i asked how he would run the 120-volt vacuum motor (although i knew of the power inverters dc to ac). but the kid had a look of "oh yeah...." he said an extension cord HAHAHA. well never mind he said. i knew it wouldnt work with the carb or just that it wouldnt work LOL thought i would share since the hoover thing reminded me of that bone head

i didnt see if op posted, is it stock intake? my car came with a bent pvc pipe as a short ram, zip tied to the ebay front strut brace, with an extremely old, dirty knockoff cone filter. that was rather loud. my aem sri has a lil purr to it, but nothing the radio cant drain out.
