sunroof alignment?
I open my sunroof everyday and have been doing it for monthes, never had a problem. Noticed 2 days ago, when I tried to close it, the passenger side back end won't close/come down. So I took the glass off, and the passenger side rails are a lil over a inch further back than the drivers side. I can't figure out what caused this or how to fix it. the motor is pretty strong, and I greased the rails a few monthes ago, the grease is still there, I cleaned it up a lil, and still no difference. nothing on the tracks slowing it down that I can see. Any ideas?

Re: sunroof alignment?
I hate working on sunroofs. I'd say take it into the shop. It's not a common job, but I've done my fair share and they kinda suck. As for closing it. I'd probably try removing that little cap on the headliner that covers that emergency sunroof closing mechanism. The newer cars have it, not sure about the older ones though. Again, it's not a common problem where I come from.

Re: sunroof alignment?
i had a very similar problem, so i removed my headliner and it ended up that over the years the screws that hold the motor and cable to the sunroof came loose. This caused the cable to bind up and thus one side of the roof was futher ahead than the other.. I tried screwing the motor back down, but the cable was done for. So instead of replacing the cable, i found a used sunroof (frame, glass and everything) for sale and just replaced the whole thing.. Its a pain in the ***, but its fixed now! good luck
