This Sucks...kinda
I come out of class, kinda worried about my car, and look what I find! Good thing the girl left a note. Talked to her insurance company and won't be able to figure things out until after the Holiday. What should I do? I want the money, because I will do the painting and everything. How do I say that to the claims adjuster?? I'm going tomorrow morning to get a quote from Honda's body shop and use that as a basis for how much it will cost. I would like the insurance company to write me a check for that amount, then I will buy a bumper, paint, and do this, molding, front bumper, and some blending. Let me know what I should say/do....

do what i did tell the insurance company you would like to take your car to the place of your choice to get it fixed then they will give you a check for the damages after they look at it and write an estimate for what the damage is worth.
then take the car and check to the place where you can get a hook up and get it fixed then if you have any extra cash buy your car somthing special for the trouble it had to go through

At least she was nice enough to leave a note though. A similar thing happened to my coupe and the person didn't even leave a note, so I'm stuck with a warped bumper and cracked paint until A) I can come up with the money to fix it or B) somebody else backs into or taps my bumper

Yeah, I called her right away and told her I appreciated her leaving the nots. She could have easily gotten off, but she was nice. I like people with integreity.

yeah my friend had a little fender bender when some guy backed into him. it was just his front bumper, and it scuffed the headlight a little bit. he got a check for 1300. then he just bought a body kit and buffed the scuff outta the headlight and he was better then before!!
did that mess up any frame or anything that would have to be pulled?? it doesnt look like it, but you never know until you actually pull the cover off.

them fax those into the insurance, then they will contact the shop with the cheapest quote of course.
but who knows maybe you'll have beeter luck than my past experience.

well it really depends on how their insurance company handles it. Some will send out their own claims adjuster. Some will send you to one of their auto body shop. And some will just let you take it anywhere you like.
Anyways, whatever is their first price that they tell you, you can always bump it up a little bit. Just tell them something else is messed up or is not right or they missed something. They will usually add a little extra.

That sucks E-dog. Are you owner of the car? If not, the check will have to go to whoever the car is registered to. If they make you pick a shop to have it fixed at, you can most likely argue it out to get the whole check by explaining to them that you would like to get it fixed at your convienance in Spo, not while at school in Bellingham.
