Default Sub frame tear...where to get it fixed?

Would any mechanic be able to fix it? Or would I need to go to a speciality shop or something to get it welded? I have the ITR Sway Bar with Beaks Kit on my Si and it tore on the passenger rear side...

Thanks for the help.

It is going to have to be welded at least I would not just take it to anyone I would do some asking around locally and find someone that is good at fabrication and welding.

depending on the severity you might have to replace the subframe. once its been through enough stress cycles to tear, welding it back together isnt going to fix the problem, just put a bandaid on it.

either case, run an asr after you get it fixed. beaks isnt enough on EK subframes

you need a specialty FRAME shop to fix that...You will probably need to replace the whole subframe...with either 99-00 si or 96-00 CTR

either way that **** is gonna be expensive...I think someone pd over $1000 to get that fixed...I will try to find it now

And after you get it fix. Ditch the beaks and get comptech or ASR.

the parts are around 250 but its a very labor intensive install, thats where the rest sneaks in

this was a given if a search was done. never the less just buy the rear subframe from the dealer and have a reputable shop remove/reweld the new in its place. to find a reputable shop talk to your insurance company and have them give you names and let them know the situation.

you need a subframe brace (asr, comptech) on all ek's if using any larger rear swaybar. bsq and beaks kits only work well on eg's and dc2 bodies regardless of the claim. this is due to the ek swaybar bracket holes.

why all those ek subframe damage threads are not copied/pasted then put in one thread and stickied. i have no idea. could easily save some headaches and $ for others. oh well.

good luck
