Stupid Timing belt question
Is there any way to tell if I need a new timing belt. Im Not sure if I do because I bought my car from a dealer, but when I bought it, it already had about 80,000 miles on it. I know that is around the time when it need to be changed, but I just figured it would have been changed at the dealer. Fast forward to today, my car just hit 100k, its running fine but Im kinda worried. I think Im just going to get it changed, but I dont want to waste my money on something thats not needed. so if you know of a way to tell just by looking at it please let me know. THANKS!!!

Re: Stupid Timing belt question (JDM_Bug)
Theres not real way of telling. but 100k is definitely time to change.
You can look for wear on the teeth of the timing belt. But regardless of how it looks, it still can snap.
might as well change out the waterpump while your at it... just my opinion.
