Stupid mistake, what might happen?

Stupid mistake, what might happen?
Hey folks, quick question... just finished replacing the clutch in my 94 si, and while we were in there we decided to unbolt the flywheel and replace the rear main, as it's been leaking pretty badly for a while. Anyway, long story short, we put everything back together and I just realized.... we COMPLETELY forgot to lubricate the seal when we replaced it. I'm already in the hole paying my friend to help me work on it and getting the trans back on was such a bitch that there's no way we're going to get back in there to do that. So my question is, what's the damage? Is it just going to leak more? Because I can live with that.. I just want to know if something else catastrophic might occur. Thanks in advance.

Well hopefully the oil will get in there before it rubs too much on the seal. Could leak worse than it ever did could not. If it leaks too much it could soak your new clutch so much that it destroys it. Could be perfectly fine.

well if you want to increase your chances of it not leaking, disable the injectors and crank it a little bit, let it sit for a few mins and do it again....do that until you feel like gambling and then start it, let it idle for a while and keep the rpms as low as possible for the first few days.......
