I agree, a headgasket.

"Circle gets a square."

I thought it was the dist., but it wasn't.

Come to think of it, maybe it was cleaning up all three.

1) headgasket
2) cam seal
3) dizzy seal/ring
4) valve cover (but you should be able to tell)
that should be about it..but also look to see if the leak stretches any further like on the other end..

I know for sure its not the valve cover beacause there is no leake arround the valve cover gasket!! I am leaning toward leaking dist. O-ring or headgasket!!
Say..if I sudden blow my headgasket would my motor make any noise?? I did noticed a slight decrease in accelleration/performance w/ that leak!!

if it is the headgasket and you felt a loss in performance then you would probably be experiencing a slight loss in coolant or some oil in your coolant system, and your motor would probably run a bit hot sometimes. when my headgasket was fine my temp needle never went above the little temp symbol on the gauge, but once it was leaking it would go above it on occasion. is the oil on your dipstick foamy looking? i had a headgasket that was kinda leaking all summer and it finally went and all my coolant entered the motor and it was like a little white boosted steam engine screamin down the road. i was racing at the moment when she went good luck, hope that helps a little

Hey I got that leak too! And its not coming from the cam seal or distributor...It's probably my headgasket not being torqued down enough...i'll get to it eventually

AHHH i have the SAME leak.

it's a ring on your distributor. Autozone/Oreilly wil want you to buy a new distributor. Honda will have a new gasket for about a buck 75. Go get the one from honda.

edit: i TOOK the Distributor OFF and it's a deteriorated ring. We put some of that ultra gasket crap on it, worked for a few months, and it's started again. Getting one from Honda ASAP.

of course...pull the dizzy out and you can inspect it. Also check the outer cam caps

my friend just recently had a similar leak on his b18c and it turned out to be the cam seals. So I would check there before assuming headgasket. We thought it was a headgasket at first, but thank god it wasn't.

funny stuff, seems like a common problem, and to jump on the bandwagon, i also have some oil buildup on the same spot, also around the valve cover.. my dad think maybe i just gotta tighten the valve cover? we shall see when it gets warmer out!

did you remove your valve cover and forget to replace the gasket sealer? Either that or your gasket on the valve cover may be fucked. Either way its not gonna be an expensive fix for that.

Yep...I just went to the honda dealer to get the O ring...$3.20 (it was only supposed to be 1.70) Jim Coleman Honda likes to jack prices

I'll be replacing it tomorrow or next week and i'll post if it fixed the problem or not.
