Stuck Spark Plug Cover
Yes I have a 99 Ej8 with a GSR swap. Well my gf gave me a Carbon Fiber spark plug cover as a gift and I went to go take it off today and it was stuck on there. Some people think that the cover, being powdercoated and all is holding it too tight. Well that can't be true because it hasen't held it too tight before. Some people think the resin adhered to the valve cover and I'm SOL.
I was just wondering if anybody has heard of this or have any idea how I can break it free.
The plug cover is a vision technica.
Thanks :/

Re: Stuck Spark Plug Cover
Try heating it up first with a heat gun. Might break the cover but stick a prybar in the end on top of the wires and pry up on it.

Re: Stuck Spark Plug Cover
I think the prybar is too thick to stick above the wires...
but I will try.
I sent weksos an email to check if its happened with vision before

Def. try the heat. Powder coating powder is basically hard plastic that melts into a very hard shell. Depending on the powder used in the powder coating some are designed to withstand higher temperatures than others and with the motor reaching high temperatures it may have heated it up to its melting point and re-cured with resin from the cf bonding together. You could try driving the car around for a while getting it nice and hot and then pry it up with a screw driver.
