Default strut bars

What performance difference is there between the strut bars that mount using the shock bolts and the ones that mount on the metal of the shock tower? like spoon vs mugen.....

they are pretty much the same and do the exact same effect.

just different mounting positions.

from wat ive heard the ones that bolt to the chasis are better as they dont add extra stress to the shocks/struts....neuspeed strut bars bolt to the chasis...

most of the shock nut mounting ones have pivot points right? the mugen one doesnt have any pivot points right? no pivot points=less flex? how much the mugen ones go for?

just get a generic one off ebay for 20 bux, and see if that is enough strength for you.....if so cool you got one cheap as hell. But if not, turn around and sell it on ebay, and buy a stronger one

from solving my earlier problem by using this diagram, the best one would be a solid neuspeed bar with no pivot points that bolts to A/B for a 96-00 civic

So the far best one IMO is the Carbing bar...it bolts to the shock towers and also to the firewall...It has a triangular shape

That is probably true. However, in regards to non-triangulated bars, probably the best shock tower brace, at least in theory, are the Neuspeed ones for 92-95 Civics and 94-01 Integras that bolt to the upper control arm bolts. Think about when you go through a corner, and you get lateral (sideways) forces through the car as you round the corner. Those lateral forces transmit through the tires, wheels, hubs, and directly to the upper and lower control arms. The shocks don't do anything except control up and down motion. So a bar that braces the upper control arms should, in theory, be the most effective design.
