Default Stripped the strut tower nut that intakes mount to....suggestions?

I was thinking of having a welder weld in a nut that is the standard size since the hole is now too big to re-thread.

What do you guys think?

UPDATE:
I took the car into my local muffler shop. (Bunch of V8 guys who loved the Edelbrock manifold) The removed the old nut (yes it is just a welded in nut) and replaced it with a nut I picked up at Home Depot for 36 cents.

They actually welded it onto a washer first since the space was too large to just drop the nut in there. Total cost was $20.

Before:

After:

You cannot tell very well from the pictures, however the stock nut is spot welded in. The washer nut combo......well, that is never coming out.

Nut is welded fully to the washer and the washer fully welded to the strut tower.

you can't just tap it a little bigger than stock? plus, welding would kill all the paint that is on your towers right now.

I need this to be OEM size. I am involved in a test fit project with two major parts manufacturers.

Get a nut welded on. I've had the same kind of thing happen before, but in a place where it wasn't such a bitch. I know exactly the place you're talking about, and the only way to make it work the way you're going to want it to is by having a nut there .

I have a local welder who is really good in price, I'm going to hit him up tomorrow. He said 15 bux!

If you are going to do any welding, why not just put a little weld in the hole, gring it flat, and just drill and tap the factory size M6

Then that would be cheaper.....bring'em. It may be a quick 10 bux at my muffler guy.
