Default stripped lower ball joint ?

Odd.. i was working on some things and put my lca on the hub, put the castle nut on and started turning, then got the rachet and turned.. i still have plenty of tread but the bolt turns with the nut at a certain point. Also its not to the depth that i can throw in a cotter pin.

i'll add a picture so people will look at the thread. LOL

put a pickle fork in between the the castle nut and the the bottom of the spindle and apply presure. you want the pitman arm to wedge it self still while you remove it and clean the threads or tighten it a bit past those rough threads.

Just get a jack and lift the control arm until its really snug against the hub. That will stop it from turning so you can tighten it.

You suck at working on cars.

Now that I'm done acting like how you usually post I'll tell you how to fix it. Get a tap set, chase the thread. The castle nut will go right on and you'll be able to even torque it without doing anything goofy like trying to bind it up with a jack. Another plus is that if you do both the nut and the stud it will be 100x easier when ever you take it on / off in the future.

i had to drop my tranny today so i went to remove the castle nut looking thing and it spun, after trying different vice grips etc, my uncle came out and just cut that ish! he's all about brute force, luckily i got a replacement.

Arent the balljoint going bad when they start spinning?

No your threads are just rough. If you use an impact it will usually spin it fast enough that it drops off. Then just chase the threads and you're set.

Depending upon how bad it is, sometimes you can just give it a good wack with a hammer and it tightens up.

Replace the castle nut, and you won't have anything to worry about.

Jack up the LCA, and have someone push down on the brake disc while you torque down the nut.
