you could cut a slot across the top of the hole to fit a screwdriver into it.

Cut the dust boot arounf the shock. pull it off and slap a vise grip on the bitch to keep it from turning. I've had to do that with all my older cars.

that also damages the strut and voids the warranty..........

You should be changing struts when installing aftermarket springs anyway. But ya if you have a dremel or an air compressor with cut off tool just put a slot into the top and fit a screw driver. I would not recommend the impact wrench idea unless your using a spring compressor.

DIY projects don't void the warranty moron, on all struts however the manufacturer's warranty is void if a tool touches the metal shaft of the strut, you can find your facts if you read before calling someone an idiot, you are correct however that after-market springs will destroy stock struts, obviously he should use performance struts, but it appears he doesn't have the cash to do so, or just doesn't want to. Why don't you try being helpfull instead of trying to be the forum badass, it just makes you look arrogent(sp?) and stuipid, and I am NOT your friend, I don't associate with people that have to put other people down to feel good about themselves.
