Default Stretched Head bolts.....

Just out of curiousity, what would happen if you installed stock head bolts that were stretched beyond spec?

Like what though?

Snapped bolts, torque values being off, etc??

Im burning coolant in #1, #3, and #4 cylinders only when the engine gets hot. The motor was just rebuilt by myself. The head and block were decked, so I am to assume that it has to be the head bolts.

Its a B18C, with CTR pistons(.25oversized).

Thanks for your help guys!!!! I will be replacing another head gasket and a set of ARP head studs!!!

not saying its gonna happen, but if you keep reusing them they dont hold as well, its good to replace them EVERY time if you have money comming out the ***.

Stock head bolts are tq to yield, but if you can get away with reuseing them more power to ya.
