Strange shifts on 93 civic ex 107k advice thoughts thanks!!
I have a 1993 Honda Civic ex wiht 107k I bought the car and it has been sitting for six months. it shifts really hard into third only once in a while mostly when giving it a good amount of gas. The D4 light on the dash doesnt come on either all others do. What can I do should I worry. Change fluid? What causes intermitent hard shifts? Thanks in advance

id change the fluid first, make to use honda tranny fluid. I've changed my gf's auto y8 fluid before and there is a drastic difference between honda oil and other name brand tranny oil. If this doesn't work, do what mista bone said.

You do understand it cost $2500 to replace the filter in a Honda auotmatic tranny right?
It's called a REBUILD.
Honda has a nonserviceable filter INSIDE the tranny.
