So, here's my problem--I've got a 99 EX m/t, which runs really well most of the time. However, lately (especially when it's really hot and humid outside), when I let off the gas, the idle will drop really low. Sometimes it will pick back up to where it's supposed to be, sometimes it will stay low. This happens with or without the a/c on, but more often with it on.

The engine has not stalled out, which is good. I have checked my IACV, have cleaned out TB and CAI/filter, and nothing else seems to be wrong.

Has anyone else experienced this? I know there is some lag/bogging when a/c is on or when you let off the gas, but I'm curious to know if anyone has any ideas of what could be wrong or if it's just something I shouldn't worry about.

Soon I'll be swapping out the head for a ported one, anyway, so maybe I can just live till then.

how low does it drop? what is your cars normal idle?

I have the same problem... It drops down at idle when I come to a stop, dropping to as low as 300rpm to where I think the car is going to stall soon. It hasn't stalled yet... I took it to a dealership to hopefully get it fixed and of course get ripped a new A for it. They ripped me a new A alright but said there was nothing wrong with it.

damm dude i have the exact same problem my car idles at 500rpms and when its real hot or just off sudden it drops to 300rpms thinking its going to turn off the engine but it doesnt. Sometimes i get out of work like around 5:30pm and its about 98degrees because i live in south texas my car will be on normal 800rpms when i usually turn on the a/c it goes down back to 800 rpms instead of going up like around 1000 or 1100 rpms. Your car slows down with the a/c which is normal your using more underdrive to generate power for your a/c. Now in regards to boggling it does it on mine when i race for 1 or 2 seconds then it my car takes off. Ive been wanting to take it the mechanic but ive been spending more money on performance parts. I think it will not really damage the engine its wont be running the way it should i had my problem for about 5 months now. Tell me if u fix and tell me what it is. I should be helping u but oh well i just felt i had to share that w/ u.
