Strange interior lighting problem on 93 Del Sol
I was wondering if anyone here has run into this problem.
On my wife's 93 Del Sol Si - her climate control and center console (gear indicator) lights do not come on with the rest of the console and cluster lights...
I've checked all the fuses, nothing is blown and I've replaced them just to be sure. What's so weird about it is that the cluster, interior lights, headlights, fog light, even the ashtray lights all work and these are *supposed* to all be on the same circuit, right? So why do the climate and gear indicator lights not come on with the rest? Is there a relay or something that would only control those 2 things? As far as I know, the car has always been like this. We've only had it for a couple of years, so I can't say for sure if they both went out at the same time or at different times. I just thought I'd post and see if anyone had any ideas before I start ripping the dashboard and center console apart looking for bad bulbs.
Any info or ideas are much appreciated!

Well that's what I thought was strange, that all of those bulbs would go out at the same time... and at the same time as the gear indicator strip next to the shifter.
I guess I'm ripping apart the dash this weekend.
Thanks guys.

it not just the bulbs if its happening all over your ride. check your fuses and the such before ripping into your dash.

That's exactly what you need to do to the dash. Give it a good bump, Millenium Falcon-style! The climate control lights and sometimes the foglight switch light in my car go off occasionally. Bumping the dash with my fist like Han Solo always brings the lights back on.
